TOWN HALL

USE OF TOWN HALL AND PREMISES

The Town Hall, the Council Chamber and Committee Room, with use of the kitchen or bar, are available for hire by organisations and businesses. For booking information and rates of hire contact the Town Clerk, Lynda Small or her assistant Jo, on 01579 384039 or visit her at the Town Hall between 9am-2pm. Please leave a message on the answering machine if she is not available. The Town Hall Caretaker is Mr Brian Gilbert.

 

THE COUNCIL CHAMBER
A large comfortable room that can seat up to 40 people. It can be laid out to suit your requirements. It can used for formal board room style meetings, training sessions, meetings of up to 40 or more people seated in rows, or completely informal for parties and other functions.
 


 

The Chamber is in a self-contained area with its own entrance, foyer, toilets and access to the kitchen. The room has a hearing loop and can be accessed by the disabled. There is also a broadband connection in the room.

THE COMMITTEE ROOM

The Committee Room is a small room suitable for meetings of up to twelve people. It can be used in conjunction with the Lounge area which has informal seating for twelve to fifteen people. Access to the Committee Room is via the Pannier Market and is suitable for disabled.



 

THE MAIN HALL
The main hall has a licence to facilitate up to 280 people standing and 180 dining. There is a stage and a hatch giving access to both the kitchen and the bar, the latter can be used in conjunction with the lounge.
A stage is available with the usual spotlighting. We have a public address system. There is disabled access and a hearing loop.
In the main foyer we have a cloakroom and the usual conveniences including those for the disabled
                         

   

KITCHENS

There are two kitchens, both having hatches through to the Main Hall. Kitchen 1 has a large gas cooker, fridge, microwave, water urn & sink and can also be accessed from the Council Chamber. Kitchen 2 has all the above facilities except the cooker, this room can be accessed from the Committee Room

BAR & LOUNGE

Kitchen 2 can also function as a bar and the serving hatch opens onto a small informal lounge, this room can be accessed from the Main Hall.

 

CHILDREN'S PARTIES

The Town Hall is ideal for children's parties.

Just turn up, have your party, and leave!

The hall has plenty of space for a disco and has the usual lighting associated with disco's

There is ample space to have a bouncy castle in the hall.

LOCATION
The Town Hall is conveniently located in New Road in the middle of town adjacent to the bus stop and bus station.

PARKING
The Town Hall is within a few metres of the New Road car park. There is limited free parking to the rear of the building for caterers access, organisers unloading, etc. Please enquire when you book so that a place can be reserved for you.
