PICTURES FROM THE
PAST
This new feature will, each month bring you an old photograph of
Callington and a present day one for you to compare. Any contributions to
this section are welcomed, old photographs or postcards can be brought
into the Town Hall for scanning. Photos of previous residents from the
19th early 20th century would also be welcome.
The old
photographs on this page are courtesy of the Callington Museum, who have a
large collection. Why not visit them, they may have pictures of your house
or the area in which your house now stands.
VILLAGES
AROUND CALLINGTON

Whiteford House. This was
situated to the south of what is now Duchy College. It was built in
1770 by Sir John Call. The Manor House was demolished in 1910 after
a fire, but the walled gardens and associated buildings still
survive. |
