Callington Heritage Centre is situated in the former chapel building on Liskeard Road, Callington. It opened on 2nd June 1994 and modernised and re-launched on 22nd July 2006. Since then it has attracted thousands of visitors. Its interests span all aspects of the social and economic history of Callington and the surrounding parishes. As well as being a place of interest to visit, the Museum aims to provide a resource for those interested in our local history, whether professional or enthusiast. It also welcomes visits from local schools, youth groups, and any others.

THE COLLECTION

The Museum has a permanent display of Chapel china, samples from many of those now shut down, and a model of Callington Railway station as it was when it closed down in 1966. There are 500 posters relating to the events in Callington between 1914-18. There are photographs, artefacts and documents concerning the town, prehistory, the mines and other industries, and a number of framed school photographs. There is a family history area and use of this and all the resources available are free to researchers

We welcome items relating to Callington and its surrounding parishes as a gift or on loan.
