Have you entered the GIANT
PUMPKIN CHALLENGE?
The Callington Autumn Show is
an annual event occurring every 3rd Saturday in September and is held in the Town Hall.
The schedule for the show is distributed directly to previous exhibitors or is available
for collection from Hindles Newsagents, Kivells Estate Agents and the Town Hall from June
onwards.
The sections included for
adults and juniors are:-
Flowers, Plants, Cacti &
Succulents
Fruit & Vegetables
Floral Art
Sugarcraft
Crafts:- wood, metal, pottery, hobby ceramics, modelling, knitting, sewing,
embroidery, crochet, patchwork, blackwork, paper tole, cross stitch, parchment craft,
fabric painting and more
Art
Photography
Cookery
Wine
Calligraphy
Composition
Poetry
Wine Making
No charge is made for entries
and prizes are given in each class. Admission to the show is free for all exhibitors.
The show is run by a committee
which is appointed at the AGM in January. It is supported by the Town Council and local
businesses. More committee members and volunteers would be welcomed.
Allotment holders are
encouraged to enter their produce in the show. All flower arrangers are invited to the
Tamar Valley Flower Club which hopes to increase the entries in the Floral Art section.
Children are encouraged to
plan their entries in good time and to enter as many classes as possible. The children are
the key to the future of the show!
